Preparation Tips for Students

Your Success Roadmap: Preparation Tips for SPACS

At SPACS, we are committed to student growth, but student success starts with a plan. Here are five essential areas to consider as student arranges their enrollment:

1. Timing is Everything

Choose a start date (January, May or August) that allows sufficient preparation time. Don’t rush the process. Ensure you have enough “lead time" to gather your documents, clear your schedule, and mentally prepare for the semester. A stress-free start leads to a successful finish.

2. Financial Readiness

Prepare financially. While SPACS College is proud to offer affordable programming, it is important to budget for tuition, books, and any specialized equipment required for your laboratory / practical sessions. Having finances in order allows student to focus 100% on their studies rather than their bank account.

3. Logistic Planning

Plan for dependable transportation and childcare (if you have). Even though our lectures are online, our high-intensity practical sessions take place on campus at the end of each semester.

  • Transportation: Ensure you have a reliable way to get to our Ocho Rios location for your hands-on training.
  • Childcare: If you are a parent, securing dependable childcare for your study hours and practical days is the best way to ensure you aren’t interrupted during critical learning moments.

4. Balancing Work and Study

Consider employment that supports your education. Healthcare studies can be rigorous. We recommend seeking employment with flexible hours or an understanding supervisor. Choosing a job that respects your “study blocks" will prevent burnout and keep your grades high.

5. Create Your “Study Sanctuary"

Since our lectures are fully online, ensure you have a quiet, dedicated space with reliable internet access. A personalized learning environment is key to getting the most out of our real-time classroom interactions.

Pro Tip from the SPACS Team: “An hour of planning saves ten hours of doing." By checking these boxes now, you are clearing the path to become a competent, ethical healthcare professional.
